Introduction of Mine Planning & Mine Closure Plan

Mining operations shall be undertaken in accordance with the duly approved mining plan. Mine Closure plans and final mine closure plans are integral part of Mining Plan. Separate approval of Mine Closure Plan/Final Mine Closure Plan has been done away with. At present, issues related with mining plans and mine closure plans are governed by the Guidelines for Preparation, Formulation, Submission, processing, Scrutiny, Approval and Revision of Mining Plan for the Coal and Lignite Blocks of MoC circulated vide OM F No. 34011/28/2019-CPAM dated 29.05.2020. Every mining plan shall be prepared on the basis of a geological report. The power related to processing, scrutiny and approval of mining plan is being exercised by the Coal Controller’s Office w.e.f 1.6.2020.
